Carolina Rig provides a family friendly affordable fishing charter service. Carolina Rig is a 22 ft Maycraft center console. It has 360 degrees of fishing action, that is safely secured with "knee high" gunnels while fighting fish. Memorable experiences are enjoyed on the pristine waters of Calibogue Sound and Port Royal Sound. Dolphins are seen regularly during charters here in the Lowcountry.
Captain David Spahr has been fishing in Hilton Head since the early 90's. He brings knowledge, local expertise and experience for a safe, fun, enjoyable charter!

Where do we leave from?
Excursions will leave from C.C.Haigh Jr Boat Landing unless other wise noted. Located conveniently between the bridges of Hilton Head Island. The Boat Dock area is across from Pickney Island Wildlife entrace.
How many people can we bring in our group?
Our rates are for up to four passengers (up to 850 lbs). Exceptions can be made with additional guests depending on the number of children and adults (two adults and three children).
What should we bring?
Anglers are reminded to bring sun protection, rain jacket, food and drinks. Please remember NO GLASS. Ice blocks in coolers will keep food and drinks cool while on board.
Do you supply the fishing gear?
Carolina Rig will provide fishing tackle, bait, licenses, and safety gear.
What type of fish can we expect to catch?
May - October - mostly sharks will be caught. Opportunities will be regularly available to catch red drum, bluefish, mackerel and jacks. Larger trophy fish might be a cobia or a tarpon.
November - April - red drum, black drum, trout, and flounder are targeted. Feel free to ask us about what's biting during the time of year you are visiting Hilton Head.
How long has Captain David been doing this?
Captain David Spahr has been fishing in Hilton Head since the early 90's. He started as a mate but quickly worked is way up and acquired his captain's license.
How do we book our execursion?
Call Captain David at 843-338-9626 to book your trip. Please leave a message if you don't reach him, he may be out on a fishing trip with limited access to his cell phone. Scheduling your trip is important to us, we will return your call and get you booked as soon as possible. Your call will be returned.
How do we pay?
Payments can be made by credit card or cash. Please note credit card purchase have a 3% convenience fee. Tips are customary and much appreciated. 15% or more is standard.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. 100% refunding. No shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours, 50% will be charged. Captain reserves the right to cancel or postpone trips due to weather.
